LA County Preps for Summer with Lifeguard Hiring Spree

LA County Parks is getting ready to take the first steps back into normalcy as they begin the steps to hire lifeguards for summer.

Pools have been closed since last summer due to COVID restrictions, but are slated to reopen in the coming months if health guidelines permit.

The parks are looking for "strong swimmers who can maintain a safe environment at park pools and teach swim classes."

Applicants have to be able to pass a 500-yard swimming test in 9.5 minutes or less and those hired will begin an extensive training program.

The job starts at more than $18 per hour with flexible summer work hours.
