Vatican Announced It Will Not Support Same-Sex Marriage

Today the Vatican announced that it would not support same-sex marriage.

In a written statement, the Church said it cannot give its blessing to same-sex unions, or any relationships that "involved sexual activity outside of marriage".

It said there were "absolutely no grounds for considering homosexual unions to be in any way similar or even remotely analogous to God's plan for marriage and family".

Pope Francis has gotten praise in the past for his seeming acceptance of the LGBTQ community, approved the letter.
