The March 14 ceremony, originally scheduled for Staples Center before the coronavirus pandemic took hold, will be a largely remote affair, hosted by Trevor Noah and broadcast on CBS at 5 p.m. PT.
The show will also pay tribute to independent music venues that have been greatly impacted by the pandemic. “From bartenders to box office managers, those who work day-to-day at the Troubadour (Los Angeles), The Hotel Caf茅 (Los Angeles), the Apollo Theater (New York City), and The Station Inn (Nashville) will present various categories throughout the night,” according to a statement from the Recording Academy.
Beyonce is the top nominee this year, with nine nods including record and song of the year for “Black Parade,” while Dua Lipa, Ricch and Swift each have six.
