New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is facing an independent review after a second former aide has come forward with sexual harassment accusations.
According to The New York Times, the 25-year-old woman alleges that the governor had asked her questions about her personal life, including things like if she was monogamous in her relationships and if she ever had sex with older men.
This follows accusations from another former top aide who said the governor made several "inappropriate gestures" and says he kissed her on the lips during a private meeting in his office.
On Sunday, Cuomo issued a statement saying:
"I acknowledge some of the things I have said have been misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation. To the extent anyone felt that way, I am truly sorry about that."
He added, some of his interactions with women "may have been insensitive or too personal", while maintaining he has "never inappropriately touched anybody."
New York State Attorney General Letitia James says her office would oversee a rigorous and independent investigation of the allegations.
