NFL Moving Forward With 17-Game Season

The NFL is reportedly moving forward with plans for a 17-game regular season in 2021.

  • The change would include cutting the preseason down to three games. Teams would rotate between having 9 or 8 regular season home games.
  • Meanwhile, the extra game would be an "interconference matchup based on divisional standings" - such as the AFC East winner facing the NFC East winner.
  • This would be the first time the NFL has expanded the regular season since 1978, when it went from 14 to 16 games.
  • What do you think of a 17-game season? Do you think this is just a step towards an 18-game season with two preseason games?
