Driver Killed in Arcadia Crash

ARCADIA (CNS) - A driver was killed and two passengers injured in a solo-vehicle crash in Arcadia, authorities said today.

The crash was reported just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday on El Monte Avenue at Las Tunas Drive, according to Arcadia police  Lt. Jeremy Lachenmyer.

The vehicle was eastbound on El Monte Avenue at the time of the crash, Lachenmyer said.

“The vehicle left the roadway and struck two power poles and a flood-control fence before coming to a rest,'' he said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and two passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Lachenmyer said.

The area was closed to traffic while the crash was investigated and Edison crews repaired the utility poles, he said.
