COSTA MESA (CNS) - A 22-year-old man was arrested today on suspicion of drunk driving for allegedly running into a pedestrian and strike another vehicle, injuring two more in Costa Mesa.
Authorities believe Herman Martinez of Maywood drove his vehicle through a red light while southbound on Newport Boulevard at 19th Street, then striking a pedestrian at Harbor Boulevard, the Costa Mesa Police Department reported.
Martinez's vehicle then allegedly slammed into another vehicle and rolled over, authorities said.
Police were dispatched to the crash scene at 2:07 a.m. Paramedics rushed the pedestrian, the driver of the struck vehicle and one of its passengers to a nearby hospital, where their conditions were not immediately known.
Martinez suffered no injuries and was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
