Portion of Green Line Near LAX Closed This Weekend For Upgrades

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A portion of the Metro C (Green) Line near LAX will be closed today and through the weekend, as crews perform track signal upgrades.

The line closed at 9 p.m. Friday and will remain closed through 3:30 a.m. Monday between the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks and Hawthorne/Lennox stations, according to Metro officials.

Six rail stations east of LAX will be affected. Metro will provide free bus shuttle service to connect Metro stations in the area of the closure. Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., shuttle buses are supposed to arrive every 15 minutes, and all other times they're expected to arrive every 20 minutes.

The LAX G Shuttle will run on its regular schedule between 5 a.m. and midnight to provide free service between the airport terminals and the Aviation/LAX station. Capacity on the shuttle is limited due to COVID-19 protocols.

People heading to LAX on the Green Line should plan for additional time on their trip.
