Police Search For Gunman Who Wounded 10-Year-Old Boy in Pasadena

PASADENA (CNS) - Police today were seeking the public's help in locating a gunman and possibly another suspect who wounded a 10-year-old boy playing near the Villa Parke area of Pasadena, leaving the child with potentially life-threatening injuries.

The gunshots were fired near Parke Street and Garfield Avenue at about 3 p.m. Sunday, according to Pasadena police.

Two men exited a vehicle and fired shots toward the area where the child was playing, Pasadena Police Department Lt. Carolyn Gordon told City News Service.

The suspects then re-entered a late-model, light-colored, four-door sedan and fled the area, Gordon said.

“Although conscious and alert when transported to a local hospital by paramedics, the victim was suffering from potentially life-threatening injuries,” she said. “This is an active investigation and detectives are currently following up on all available leads. There is nothing to indicate the 10-year-old was the intended victim and the motive remains unknown.”

Anyone with information on this shooting was asked to call Pasadena police at 626-744-4501. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
