The Coast Guard has rescued three people who spent the last 33 days stranded on a deserted island.
- An aircraft spotted the trio, a woman and two men, waving makeshift flags from an uninhabited island in the Bahamas. They told officials they were traveling from Cuba when their boat capsized near the coast of the island.
- The castaways had survived for more than a month by eating coconuts, rats, and shellfish.
- Coast Guard Petty Officer Brandon Murray said he can't ever remember saving someone who had been stranded for more than a month.
- How long do you think you could survive on a desert island? Could you bring yourself to eat a rat?
