A Florida man, who claimed he couldn’t afford a cab, was arrested for calling 911 for a ride home. Twice.
Twenty-two year-old Matthew Leatham, who’s apparently a big fan of the Sunshine State - as evidenced by a tattoo of Florida on his forehead - was on foot when a Pasco County deputy stopped him shortly after 4am.
According to the complaint, the officer offered to call him a cab but he declined, saying he didn’t have any money. With that, Leatham began to walk towards his home. And then called 911 to again request a ride.
The deputy stopped him again and placed him under arrest charging him with misuse of the 911 system as well as marijuana possession.
