Man Fatally Shot In Burbank Was 24-Year-Old Resident

BURBANK (CNS) - A man who was fatally shot in a possible home-invasion robbery in Burbank was identified today as 24-year-old resident of the city.

Officers responded to an apartment building in the 200 block of West Tujunga Avenue about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday after receiving multiple calls about a disturbance at the location, said Burbank police Lt. Derek Green.

At least one caller reported hearing gunfire, he said.

Arriving officers were met by a ``distraught'' woman who led them into an upstairs apartment, where the wounded man was found, Green said.

He was identified by the coroner's office Wednesday as Cedric Donnell Brooks Jr., of Burbank.

Brooks died at the scene, police said.

The department was still investigating the shooting Wednesday, and did not have any details on a possible suspects, according to Sgt. Brent Fekety.

Police said Tuesday it was seeking at least two suspects, and was investigating the possibility that the shooting was ``a home invasion-type robbery,'' Sgt. Emil Brimway said.
