Medical experts are now repeating what our parents told us for years growing up...
STOP! PICKING! YOUR! NOSE!!!!!!!!
New statistics reveal that as much as 91% of the population regularly goes 'mining for nuggets' -- and they're all putting their lives at risk by doing so, according to University of Washington Professor Paul Pottinger...
Nose pickers can easily "transfer germs from your fingertips into the nose, which is the exact opposite of what you want," says Pottinger, who's also an infectious disease specialist at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.
The nose is one of three ways the coronavirus can enter a human body, with the other two being the mouth and eyes, health officials say. But while noses are lined with mucus and tiny hairs to filter out unwanted invaders, sticking a finger inside your nostril literally bypasses those defense systems, Pottinger says.
“Remember, the booger is just a dried out piece of mucus. If you rehydrate the mucus, you should be able to blow it out or have it come out on its own,” he added.
