HAWTHORNE (CNS) - A photo circulated Monday by the county health department led to the identification of a man admitted to a hospital after being found unresponsive on Christmas Eve in Hawthorne, where he was apparently struck by a vehicle.
The man, believed to be in his early to mid-20s, was found late Thursday lying in the middle of the street at 118th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard, with his skateboard nearby.
A photo of the patient was disseminated to news agencies, and he was subsequently reunited with loved ones, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, which did not release his name publicly.
The man, who was not carrying any identification when found, was being treated at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for unspecified injuries.
