ALHAMBRA (CNS) - A 42-year-old man was killed in a three-vehicle, chain reaction crash today on the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Alhambra.

California Highway Patrol officers responded about 5:15 p.m. to a 911 call of a 2015 Toyota that was stalled and blocking the No. 1 lane of the toll lanes near Atlantic Boulevard.

Before officers arrived, a 2018 Nissan SUV driven by a man from Duarte crashed into the rear of the Toyota, setting off a chain reaction crash that also involved a 2018 Ford, according to Officer K. Lowell.

Each of the drivers was taken to a hospital, where the driver of the Nissan died of his injuries. The other two drivers, a 25-year-old woman from Sacramento and a 26-year-old man from South Gate, sustained minor injuries, Lowell said.

The victim's name was not immediately disclosed.

Alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash.
