PASADENA (CNS) - A man in his mid-30s, allegedly high on alcohol and/or drugs, led police on a pursuit this morning that lasted about a minute before he lost control of his Scion and crashed it into a light pole in Pasadena.

“It (the chase) lasted about a minute. It was (like) one big giant circle,'' Pasadena Police Lt. Anthony Burgess said. “He looked like he was pretty high on something.''

The pursuit, triggered by a routine traffic stop, began at about 6:10 a.m. in the area of Walnut Street and Los Robles Avenue, Burgess said, with the suspect going down Madison Avenue, west on Union Street and then south on Oakland Avenue, where he crashed his car into a light pole and was arrested.

No one was injured and the suspect was the lone occupant inside his car.
