Thomas Fish is the president of Blowoutcards.com and now the new owner of an extremely rare, sealed, first-edition deck of Pokemon cards.
And he only had to part with $360,000 to become that.
Fish was the winning bidder at the Heritage Auctions' Comic & Comic Art Auction held over the weekend in Dallas.
The price paid for the Pokemon First Edition Base Set Sealed Booster Box easily exceeded the previous world record of $198,000 paid for a first-edition Pokemon card set in September.
Jesus Garcia, a Heritage Auctions Operations Supervisor, explained the sky high value of the set escalated because it "...comes from a very low print run and is still sealed and in such great condition."
