Gavin's Gaffe Lands Him in the Hot Seat

When Governor Gavin Newsom pulled up a chair at a swanky Northern California restaurant earlier this month, you'd think he'd have realized right away he'd made a misstep.

Newsom violated virtually all of the rules he's been preaching to the state's citizens to curb the spread of coronavirus infections when he sat down with a dozen friends at The French Laundry to celebrate the 50th birthday of his longtime friend and political advisor Jason Kinney.

On Monday, the Democrat apologized saying he made a "bad mistake" adding "I should have stood up and...drove back to my house."

Republican lawmakers took to social media to poke fun of his apology while fellow Democrats remained largely silent.
