Complainers rejoice because ‘Fleets’ are here!

Fleets are Twitter’s latest effort to inspire the bullies or "fraidy cats" in your online life.

The twitter company is unleashing the all-new concept known as ‘Fleets’ aka the professional troll’s magnum opus.

A Fleet is a tweet that only lasts for 24 hours on the Twitter interface. The fleet is twitter’s version of a “Snap” from Snapchat or “Instagram/Facebook story.”

The Fleets update releases today (Tuesday, Nov. 17th, 2020) and it is meant to inspire more involvement in the Twitter community. Because of looming circumstances like cancel culture and Twitter muckraking, the company wants to offer a solution where individuals can feel more comfortable participating in the social media site.

“We’ve learned that some people feel more comfortable joining conversations on Twitter with this ephemeral format, so what they’re saying lives just for a moment in time,” said Joshua Harris, a Twitter director of design. “We can create a space with less pressure that allows people to express themselves in a way that feels a bit more safe.”

Although Twitter has seemingly created fleets for good. We know the internet and the people that find refuge on it. So there’s only a matter of time before it is used for bad. My money is on it already happening by the reading of this article. before you post that hate speech, nude pic, or “Anti” rhetoric.

With this said, to all of our complainers, all of our teens who have yet to mature into functioning members of society, and all of our soon to be reformed _______ (Fill in the blank), be merry that Twitter has offered a solution for you to have a temporary voice.

Just please don’t use it for evil.
