Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops To Lowest Amount Since July 23

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped seven-tenths of a cent today to $3.156, its lowest amount since July 23.

The average price has dropped six of the past eight days, dropping 2.4 cents, including three-tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 2.2 cents less than one week ago, 4.5 cents lower than one month ago and 97.2 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has decreased 45.9 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for the eighth consecutive day, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.122, its lowest amount since July 22. It has dropped 2 cents over the past eight days, including four-tenths of a cent on Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 1.6 cents less than one week ago, 4.5 cents lower than one month ago and 96.5 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has decreased 42.3 cents since the start of the year.

Stations were allowed to begin selling winter blend gasoline, which is cheaper to produce, on Sunday.
