Man Hospitalized with Injuries Sustained in Stabbing at Sports Bar

ANAHEIM (CNS) - A man stabbed this morning at a sports bar in Anaheim later died at an area hospital, and police have a detained a suspect in connection with the fatal assault.

The victim was a resident of La Habra, and the suspect is a resident of unincorporated Anaheim. Both men are in their 20s, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer.

“We're not ready to identify anyone just yet,'' Carringer said.

Police did not release any details on what led them to detain the suspect. The stabbing occurred at Harvey's Sports Bar, at 1728 S. Euclid Ave., about 2:30 a.m., according to the Anaheim Police Department, which did not have details of what led to the violence.

A news photographer said friends of the victim called 911 from a parking lot in the 1300 block of South Anaheim Boulevard, south of the Riverside (91) Freeway, about five miles from where the stabbing occurred, and where paramedics found the victim.
