Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped a half-cent today to $3.17, one day after rising one-tenth of a cent.

The average price has dropped five of the past seven days and is 1.2 cents less than one week ago, 3 cents lower than one month ago and 90.1 cents cheaper than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has decreased 44.5 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $3.131, one day after decreasing four-tenths of a cent. It is 1.2 cents less than one week ago, 3.7 cents lower than one month ago and 89.6 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has decreased 41.4 cents since the start of the year.
