- Burger King is looking to be crowned "Most Environmentally Friendly" among fast food chains and will be taking steps to reduce waste in the new year. Chain Tim Horton's will be joining in the program as well.
- Working with Terra Cycle's Loop program, Burger King and Tim Horton's have developed reusable containers that customers can return. They would get the option to pay a deposit to receive their meal in reusable containers and cups. Upon returning the containers, customers would get their deposit back.
- In case anyone is worried about the cleanliness of this project, all returned containers will be sanitized and cleaned before being used again.
- The test for this program happens next year at select Toronto locations.
