The Los Angeles Dodgers complete the comeback after being down three games to one in the National League Championship Series and advance to their third World Series in four years! They beat the Atlanta Braves on Sunday night in Game 7 by a score of 4-3.

The Braves scored first when designated hitter Marcell Ozuna hit an RBI single in the first inning off of Dodgers pitcher Dustin May. Atlanta followed that up with a home run in the second inning courtesy of shortstop Dansby Swanson off of Dodgers pitcher Tony Gonsolin.

The Dodgers were able to tie the game on a 2-run RBI double from catcher Will Smith in the bottom of the third inning only for Atlanta to take the lead back in the fourth thanks to a RBI single from third baseman Austin Riley.

The following at-bat, Nick Markakis grounds into one of the most spectacular double plays in postseason baseball history! Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner throws the ball to home which leads to Dansby Swanson getting into a pickle leading Turner to jump and become literally parallel to the ground while stretching to make the first out only to whip it to third base where shortstop Corey Seager was covering third to get the second out.

In the fifth inning, Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman hit a deep ball to right field but Dodgers right fielder & 2018 AL MVP Mookie Betts robbed him of a home run and that was the second home run Mookie had robbed in consecutive games!

With the Braves leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning Kiké Hernández leads off the inning with a no doubt home run on the eighth pitch of the at-bat to tie the game. Hernández arrived to the game rocking a Kobe Bryant #8 jersey coincidentally.

In the bottom of the 7th inning with two outs and ALSO on the eighth pitch of the at-bat reigning NL MVP Cody Bellinger breaks open the tie with one swing of the bat, hitting a 400ft home run to give the Dodgers a 4-3 advantage in the game but also ultimately the series.

Julio Urias pitched three perfect innings after coming in for relief for the seventh, eighth and ninth innings notching his second victory of the 2020 postseason. Corey Seager was named the 2020 NLCS MVP.

This will be the Dodgers 21st World Series appearance and they became the eighth team to win a League Championship Series after trailing in the series 3-1. The last four teams that have done it have gone on to win the World Series.

The Dodgers will face the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series with Game 1 on Tuesday night. First pitch is at 5:09pm PT and can be heard on our sister station AM570 LA Sports or on the iHeartRadio App

Dodgers Reporter and host of "Dodger Talk" on AM570 LA Sports David Vassegh comes on the program to talk with Tim about the Dodgers reaching the World Series for the third time in four years!
