Man Wanted for Killing Girlfriend and Her Son in Arkansas Arrested

BURBANK (CNS) - One of the U.S. Marshals Service's “15 Most Wanted'' fugitives -- who allegedly killed his girlfriend and her 4-year-old son in Arkansas -- was in custody today following his arrest in Burbank, authorities said.

Jory Worthen, 24, was taken into custody Monday night, said Cory Thomas of the U.S. Marshals Service. Worthen is being held on the Arkansas murder warrant and is awaiting extradition back to that state.

“Jory Worthen was wanted for two homicides that occurred in Camden, Arkansas, in 2019,'' Thomas said in a statement. “Worthen is accused of murdering his girlfriend Alyssa and her 4-year-old son Braydon. Immediately after the murders, Worthen fled in Alyssa's vehicle, which was later found abandoned in a parking lot in Seattle, Washington.''

The Western Arkansas U.S. Marshals Task Force was brought into the investigation because Worthen had crossed state lines and was believed to be armed and dangerous, Thomas said.

“The investigative efforts by all agencies involved with Worthen led them to a hotel in Burbank, California, Monday evening,'' Thomas said. “After being identified by law enforcement, Worthen ran from U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement, but was found and taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.''

U.S. Marshals Service task forces combine the efforts of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest the most dangerous fugitives.
