Gas Prices Decrease in L.A. County, Orange County

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent today to $3.197.

The average price is nine-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 3 cents lower than one month ago and $1.04 cheaper than one year ago, when prices were rising sharply after three Los Angeles-area refineries slowed or halted production due to maintenance issues and no imported gasoline was available, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.

The Orange County average price dropped nine-tenths of a cent to $3.158. It has decreased on 11 of the past 13 days, and is 1.4 cents less than one week ago, 4.6 cents lower than one month ago and $1.05 cheaper than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
