Dodger's Rick Monday - World Series Champs!

Unicorn...to be able to win a World Series as a player and then again as a broadcaster with the World Champion L.A. Dodgers. Rick Monday joins us the day after the Dodgers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in Arlington, Texas. It has been 32 years since the Dodgers won the title. How sweet?! in 1988 the Dodgers and Lakers both won titles. We needed this...

What an incredible treat to talk with the great Dodgers radio play-by-play announcer Rick Monday. Rick had a storied career in Major League Baseball as a center fielder from 1966 to 1984, most notably as a member of the Chicago Cubs and the Dodgers with whom he won a World Series championship in 1981.

You will really enjoy the interview below, Rick goes into detail about some great stories.

One of the best stories is about what is called the "best play in baseball".

April 25th 1976, at Dodger stadium in L.A. two protesters ran onto the field and tried to set fire to an American flag. Rick at the time was the Cubs center fielder and ran onto the field and before they could light fire to the flag, Rick grabbed it and ran away with it! Rick adds a detail to this story that has never been heard before. Take a listen.
