It's Spooky Season! Here's Where You Can Have Some Halloween Fun This Year!

As the leaves begin to turn, the heat of summer fades away and people order their first pumpkin-spice lattes of the year, it's time to begin thinking about the spookiest day of the year - Halloween! But, thanks to COVID-19, parties, trick-or-treating and other festivities will have to look very different this year. Fortunately, the coronavirus can't stop people from having a good (and safe!) time this year.

Below are several events happening around Southern California where you can have a fun family adventure despite the on-going coronavirus pandemic.

Freeform's 31 Nights of Halloween

Where: Heritage Square Museum, Los Angeles, CA

Price: FREE

When: Tickets go on sale September 10th.

This enormous outdoor immersive experience will allow you to drive through the wonderful world of "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas," "Hocus Pocus," and other spooktacular surprises! You'll have the chance to play games, watch fun performances and even win prizes! The best part? It's also FREE

Hauntoween

Where: 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd.,Woodland Hills, CA 91367

Price: $70 per vehicle. Advance purchase is highly recommended. A limited number drive up tickets will be available.

When: October 9th - 31st - From 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

This year, Hauntoween brings your family into an extensive, immersive experience you can drive through and experience Halloween to its fullest! Hauntoween will feature the traditional Halloween vibe with an array of environments, including mini-maze routes, giant pumpkins, headless horsemen, and spider webs as far as the eye can see. People participating will also be given the opportunity to choose a pumpkin (which will be sanitized and placed in a plastic bag).

L.A. Haunted Hayride - Live Drive Up Experience

Where: Bonelli Regional Park (in San Dimas, next to Raging Waters)

Price: Tickets range in price from $49.99 to $199.99.

When: Open select nights between September 25th - November 1st.

Thanks to COVID-19, the L.A. Haunted Hayride has switched things up this year, creating a one-of-a-king immersive experience that goes far beyond a drive in. The haunted hayride features a multimedia story displayed on a 40 foot screen as well as horrifying sets and characters from Midnight Falls that bring the story to life.

Stranger Things Pop Up

Where: A central location in Downtown Los Angeles.

Price: Tickets range in price from $89 and up (depending on how many passengers you have in your vehicle)

When: Beginning Oct. 1st, 2020.

Attention all "Stranger Things" fans - Netflix is bringing the spooky happenings from Hawkins to downtown Los Angeles. Fans of the hit TV show will be treated to a "drive-into" pop-up experience that allows you to travel through some of the show's strange location. From visiting the Starcourt Mall, Russian labs and even the Upside Down, characters from the show will also show up and surround your "convoy" as you make your way through the hour-long tour.

Netflix has also promised a "mind-blowing sensory surprise" that will apparently "blur the line between fantasy and reality," so you know you won't want to miss this!

Urban Legends Haunt

Where: OC Fairgrounds

When: Oct 1st. through Nov. 1st

Halloween lovers beware - the producers behind Winter Fest OC have teamed up with the producer of Queen Mary's Dark Harbor to develop an all-new way for revelers to experience the thrills and chills of Halloween - all while safely social distancing.

This drive-through Halloween Haunt will see you drive through legends and stories devised from whispered folklore that has terrorized people for generations. People will be guided through five different Experiential Zones on an outlined course that weaves together some of the legends of SoCal's scariest Urban Legend monsters. With unique live performances, sound effects and dazzling special effects, this Urban Legends Haunt is sure to be a terrifyingly fun way to spend your Halloween!

Nights of Jack

Where: King Gillette Ranch, Calabasas

When: Oct 1st through Nov. 1st.

Nights of the Jack is a family-friendly drive-thru Halloween experience that shows visitors some larger than life pumpkin installations as well as detailed artist depictions of your favorite movie stars, sports heroes and animated characters. Additionally - some of L.A.'s top food trucks will be on hand for all the hungry Halloween lovers.

Halloween Drive-In

Where: Westfield Fashion Square, Los Angeles, CA

Price: Tickets start at $20

When: October 16th

On October 16th, join your fellow Halloween movie aficionados for a double-feature screening of "Hotel Transylvania" and "Scream."

Knott's Taste Of Fall-O-Ween
