Corbin Carson spent a decade telling stories from the streets as a rap artist before remixing his life to tell stories from the streets as a reporter.
He graduated with the prestigious Outstanding Graduate Student Award on the way to a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. He also won several awards for his work leading a team at News21 to create the nation’s first and most comprehensive Voter Fraud Database for the 2012 election. Corbin won an Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Documentary for his criminal justice report called Locked Up Arizona. He also won the AP Award for Best Reporter and shared in back-to-back Edward R. Murrow Overall Excellence Awards while working at KTAR News in Phoenix, Arizona.
Since joining KFI News in 2018 Corbin has done a riveting series that chronicled the damage caused by COVID-19 to the economy of Catalina Island … as well as the island’s triumphant comeback. He also revisited election fraud in Southern California with a seven-part series called Vote Fraud Fears and 2020 Election Skepticism. Corbin has completed a powerful two-hour documentary on property in Manhattan Beach that was stolen from a black family 100 years ago amid threats from the KKK. The documentary, called This Sand is My Sand: The Stolen Legacy of Bruce’s Beach culminated with the California Governor signing a bill to return the multi-million dollar property to descendants of the Bruce family.
Corbin is a former Arizona State Muay Thai Kickboxing champion and fanatical chess player … but his primary joy is training his four amazing children to strive for perfection while not taking life too serious.
