@DarkSecretPlace - OC Taken Off Covid Watch-List, Schools May Open Soon

Orange County got some good news: the rates of residents testing positive for Covid-19 has dropped to 5.6%, far below the 8% threshold. As a result, the county has been taken off the state's Covid Watch-list.

This helps clear the way for schools to open back up faster than their LA County counterparts. Counties must be off the watch list for 15 days before schools can reopen. If these numbers remain under the threshold, interim chief health officer and director of the Orange County Health Care Agency, Dr Clayton Chau, says it's possible that all K-12 schools could reopen by early September.

During Super Hyper Local Sunday on KFI AM640, Bryan Suits discusses the impact keeping schools closed can have on both the economy, as well as children's academic performance.
