CARSON (CNS) - A second consecutive LA Galaxy II game has been postponed because of a coronavirus outbreak on the team, the USL Championship announced.
Eleven “covered persons'' with LA Galaxy II had tested positive in testing conducted last Tuesday, prompting postponement of last Wednesday's game against San Diego Loyal SC, the league announced Thursday.
The Division II men's soccer league announced Tuesday LA Galaxy II's planned game for Friday against Orange County SC in Irvine has also been postponed “out of an abundance of caution.''
Both games will be rescheduled.
LA Galaxy II is the reserves team of the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer
This is also the second consecutive postponement for Orange County SC. Its game scheduled for last Wednesday against Sacramento Republic FC was postponed because of a positive COVID-19 test result from a “previous opponent.''
Republic FC lost to LA Galaxy II, 1-0, July 25.
USL health and safety protocols require all covered persons to undergo weekly testing.
