Dr. Fauci Says It's Time To Goggle Up

Well... It might be time to add one more thing to your list of "how to protect yourself from coronavirus."

Because on Wednesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci suggested that Americans should consider wearing goggles or a face shield soon. He also noted they are not "universally recommended" at this point, but "if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it if you can."

"You have mucosa in the nose, mucosa in the mouth, but you also have mucosa in the eye," he continued. "Theoretically, you should protect all the mucosal surfaces. So if you have goggles or an eye shield you should use it."

Currently, the U.S. is the worst-affected country, with more than 4.3 million diagnosed coronavirus cases and over 150,000 deaths.

The nation's top infectious disease specialist also told ABC News that people definitely need to get the flu vaccine this fall, because he says it's going to get very tricky with COVID-19 and the flu having such similar symptoms...

"It is inevitable that we're going to have some degree of flu," he said. "I'm hoping that the wearing of masks and other coverings are going to not only protect us against COVID-19, but also help protect us against influenza."

What do you think about the goggle/eye shield recommendation? Would you wear it?
