The White House announced they will be deploying federal DHS agents to more U.S. cities as part of 'Operation Legend'.

President Trump said the agents will be deployed soon to Chicago and Albuquerque in order to combat rising crime and violence. Detroit, Chicago, and Milwaukee have also been mentioned as possible deployment sites.

But in Portland, Oregon, federal officers have already been clashing with protesters for days now...

Just yesterday, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler was tear-gassed by officers while he stood guarding a federal courthouse.

“I want to thank the thousands of you who have come out to oppose the Trump administration’s occupation of this city,” Wheeler told protestors gathered at the federal courthouse, before getting tear-gassed. “The reason this is important is it is not just happening in Portland. ... We’re on the front line here in Portland.”

Other local leaders like Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan have criticized the White House's decision to send out federal agents, saying it could jeopardize local law enforcement's relationship with the community.
