LA Rescue Shelter Accused of Scamming Donors by Lying About Pets' Health

The owners of a Los Angeles animal shelter are being accused of scamming donors out of thousands of dollars in contributions.

The Los Angeles Attorney General's Office says Little Love Rescue, owner Brittany Littleton misrepresented the health of animals on the shelter's website in order to get donations and then spent the money on everything but the animals.

In one example offered in the suit, Littleton claimed a dog named Luna needed a $6,000 operation to fix her spine, raising more than $8,000 from heartbroken donors.

However, the suit alleges Luna's spine was fine and the money was used for "other purposes."
