SANTA ANA (CNS) - A documented gang member on probation for gun violations was arrested Monday after attempting to run from officers in Santa Ana.
Gang detectives tried to stop the suspect in the 800 block of South Townsend Street, north of McFadden Avenue, but the suspect attempted to run off and was quickly detained, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. The time of the incident was not disclosed.
A search of the area where the suspect ran turned up a loaded 9mm gun with an extra loaded magazine near a fence, police said.
The suspect, who was not immediately identified by police, was arrested for several felony charges and a probation violation.
