Restaurant in NorCal Refuses to Serve Customers Wearing Masks

Tailors See Strong Demand For Protective Face Masks

A restaurant in Northern California says they won't serve any customers who are wearing masks, according to multiple reviews posted on Yelp and social media.

Social media users posted photos of a sign currently posted outside The Apple Bistro, that said: "No social conditioning. No oxygen deprivation mask. No latex dirty germ spreader."

"I was just asked to leave this café, when I went in to grab an apple pie," one woman wrote on Facebook. "Why? Because I was wearing a mask. We stop almost every time we come up to the cabin. We will never stop there again."

El Dorado County has instituted several health restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic, including social distancing and mask-wearing while in public spaces. The bistro, located about 40 miles outside of Sacramento, has been the subject of nearly 20 complains since March, a spokesperson for the El Dorado County Health Department told CBS 12.

Health inspectors have already made visits to the restaurant, however, the spokesperson said they will make another visit next week and deliver a warning. If the complaints continue, the restaurant could face a suspension of its license.
