LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Actress and singer Tamar Braxton was hospitalized this morning with stable vital signs after she may have tried to commit suicide inside a downtown Los Angeles apartment.

Braxton was staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences, 900 W. Olympic Blvd., near L.A. Live, when she was found about 9:45 p.m. Thursday by her boyfriend, David Adefeso, who called 911 and said she was “unresponsive'' and had been drinking and taken an unknown amount of prescription pills, The Blast reported. Sources told The Blast that Adefeso believes Braxton may have tried to commit suicide.

Police confirmed to The Blast they received a call of a 43-year-old woman with a medical emergency listed as a “possible overdose'' and an investigation was underway.

Braxton and Adefeso host a show on YouTube called “Coupled & Quarantined,'' which was scheduled to air Thursday night. A message was posted on their channel that read “Hello Ya'll Unfortunately, Your girl Tamar is under the weather today and not feeling well so we need to postpone today's show (Don't worry it's not Covid). We're sad because we had a great show lined up for you today, but next week's show is going to be even bigger and better. So sorry for the inconvenience, we know many of you look forward to the show every week. we'll make it up to you next week.''

Braxton, the sister of seven-time Grammy winner Toni Braxton, has been in an ongoing contract dispute with We TV over the show “Braxton Family Values'' and has been attempting to get out of her contract, which she claims is unfair, sources told The Blast. Production of the show was halted in April because of the coronavirus pandemic.

A trailer for her new We TV reality show “Get Ya Life'' was released this week and Braxton “felt blindsided by it and hated the way it portrayed her,'' the sources said.
