LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent today to $3.12, its highest amount since March 30.
The average price has risen 10 of the past 11 days, increasing 4.2 cents, including four-tenths of a cent on both Saturday and Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 2.6 cents more than a week ago and 10.1 cents higher than one month ago but 65.9 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 49.5 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of a cent to $3.10 after rising 11 of the past 12 days to its highest amount since March 28. It is 2.1 cents more than one week ago and 11.1 cents higher than one month ago but 62.9 cents less than one year ago.
The Orange County average price rose 4.6 cents over the previous 12 days, including a half-cent on both Saturday and Sunday. It has decreased 45.4 cents since the start of the year.
A 3.2-cent increase in the gasoline tax went into effect July 1 which was gradually reflected in the pump price.
