Costco Discontinues Their Half-Sheet Cakes In Order To Discourage Parties

It's been a hard week for Costco fans.

They finally got their samples back, but something else was taken from them.

Costco's iconic half-sheet cakes.

The company quietly stopped selling their popular cakes to discourage others from gathering or hosting parties as the coronavirus pandemic continues. They are now offering a 10-inch round cake, along with their limited-time bar cakes, like the tres leches cake. The decision coincides with recommendations from health agencies to avoid large gatherings.

But this isn't enough! Don't they understand how iconic their cakes are? Ahhh, the coronavirus continues to take from us. People obviously showed anger online.Costco responded to angry Facebook comments by saying, “To help limit personal contact and create more space for social distancing, Costco has reduced service in some departments,” the company wrote. “At this time, we are not making sheet cakes for special order.”

Costco says it has no plans to immediately bring back the half-sheet cakes
