Watch Out For The Fake 'Face Mask Exemption Card' Circulating Online

If you find wearing a protective face mask to be uncomfortable, or even unflattering, an organization called the Freedom to Breathe Agency is giving out "face mask exemption cards" absolutely free!

The only problem?

They're complete bogus...

The card, which was downloaded by many from Freedom to Breathe's Facebook page, features the Americans with Disability Act's logo and reads, "Wearing a face mask possesses a mental and/or physical risk to me. Under the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), I am not required to disclose my condition to you."

“Do not be fooled by the chicanery and misappropriation of the DOJ eagle,” Matthew G.T. Martin, US attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina, said in a news release. “These cards do not carry the force of law. The ‘Freedom to Breathe Agency,’ or ‘FTBA,’ is not a government agency.”

The U.S. Department of Justice says neither they, nor any Americans with Disability Act officials, have approved the card. So presenting one to a cop won't get you out of a fine -- but it may get a laugh out of the police officer...
