Father-Daughter Duo Raise $5 Million for Charity with Celeb Zoom Parties

Father-daughter duo Richard and Demi Weitz have raised millions of dollars for charity.

Richard, who is a Hollywood agent, and Demi started "Quarantunes", weekly Zoom parties featuring musical artists performing from their living rooms.

Every week surprise guests perform from their living rooms as about 400 other guests watch from theirs.

Demi says initially they wanted to raise $10,000 for a local hospital, but it has quickly grown way beyond that goal.

“I am so grateful to be in this position. Look at the joy we are bringing in a pandemic. We have this platform. We need to raise money, so I made a GoFundMe about 10 minutes before the Zoom started for the Saban Community Clinic."

They now raise money for nearly a dozen charities and this weekend’s events will benefit equal justice initiatives and music cares.
