LOS ANGELES (CNS) - T-Mobile customers nationwide, including in the Los Angeles area, experienced phone service outages today that affected calling and texting services for at least 13 hours before they were restored.
The outage started shortly after 9 a.m., and T-Mobile President of Technology Neville Ray announced on Twitter just after 10 p.m., “Voice and text services are now restored.''
Ray thanked customers “for your patience as we fixed the issues. We sincerely apologize for any and all inconveniences.''
The number of customers affected in the Los Angeles area was not immediately available.
T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert released a statement on the outage Monday night.
“This is an IP traffic related issue that has created significant capacity issues in the network core throughout the day.''
Customers were able to use data services during the outage, and calling and messaging on apps like FaceTime, iMessage, Skype, Zoom and Signal were available.
