California Woman Gives Birth To 12-Pound Baby, Breaks Hospital Record

A California woman has recently broken a hospital record, by giving birth to her baby who tipped the scales at 12 pounds!

Kayla Dannielle Latrice Williams came into the world Friday at Stockton's San Joaquin General Hospital. And according to doctors at the hospital, Kayla was born looking like she was already three months old! They also told Kayla's family that their current hospital staff had never delivered a baby that big.

Although Kayla's brave mother, Bridgette Williams, had planned for a natural childbirth, after about 48 hours of excruciating labor she decided it was time to have a C-section.

Hospital officials reported that both mother and baby are doing fine, however they do have nurses monitoring Kayla in the NICU due to minor complications with her breathing.

Bridgette said the only downside to having such a large child is that she'll have to exchange all of the clothes she received at her baby shower... For much bigger sizes.
