The 81-year-old owner of a Dr. Martens store in the Fairfax District is getting help rebuilding with a GoFundMe campaign.
Ned Harounian's store was looted and believed to have been set on fire by the thieves.
Harounian, an Iranian immigrant, has been on Melrose for more than 30 years.
The store was closed for two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Harounian was in his store cleaning up before the riots began in the Fairfax District.
That night, looters raided the store with the whole thing being caught on video.
The building later caught fire, which gutted the store and destroyed the rest of the inventory.
They had no insurance on the products and a GoFundMe page was set up for the Harounian family.
