LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Baptist Ministers Conference scheduled a march on L.A. City Hall today to honor the life of George Floyd.
The organization's president, K.W. Tulloss, said hundreds of clergy from the L.A. area will unite to demonstrate solidarity and demand justice for Floyd.
“It is not enough to remain silent. It is the responsibility of the church to shine light on dark situations. Now is the time for leaders of faith to voice our concerns in the spirit of our beliefs,'' Tulloss said.
Participating organizations include Baptist Ministers Conference, Southern Christian Leadership Conference, National Action Network Los Angeles, Churches in Action and a variety of local churches and pastors. The peace march will begin on the corner of 1st and San Pedro. The demonstration is sponsored by the Baptist Ministers Conference of Los Angeles and the SCLC president, Pastor William Smart.
