Guys with metal detectors. Once in a while you see someone on the beach or by the side of a road with a metal detector and usually a bucket to contain the myriad of treasures they assume they will find. We laugh at those people, be cause it all seems so silly. Well, it's not silly any more:
Diana was 7 when she lost the rosary from her first communion. That was in 1946 in New Jersey. Diana now lives in Iowa, where she recently received a phone call from Daniel Jurgens, who found the rosary while metal detecting in a park in Edison, NJ. Working only from an engraving on the rosary with Diana’s first name and date of communion, Jurgens contacted the diocese and was given Diana’s full maiden name. He then went to ancestry.com and looked at the full 1940 census for Diana’s family. He eventually was able to track her down under her married name and the rosary is on its way to a delighted Diana.
