Average L.A. County Gas Price Rises For 10th Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose for the 10th consecutive day and 14th of the past 15, increasing a half-cent today to $2.936.

The average price has risen 7.7 cents over the past 15 days, including seven-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 3.2 cents more than a week ago and 9.7 cents higher than a month ago but $1.038 less than one year ago. It has decreased 67.9 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose for the 22nd time in 23 days, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $2.901. It has risen 13.1 cents over the past 23 days, including a half-cent on Wednesday. It rose for 20 consecutive days, was unchanged Tuesday and resumed rising Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 3.7 cents more than one week ago and 9.3 cents higher than one month ago but $1.046 less than one year ago. It has dropped 64.4 cents since the start of the year.
