Wells Fargo Supports Valley Economic Alliance With $65,000 Grant

SHERMAN OAKS (CNS) - The Valley Economic Alliance is banking on a $65,000 grant from Wells Fargo to provide technical assistance for business owners impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sherman Oaks-nonprofit announced today.

“This grant will allow us to reach into San Fernando Valley underserved areas where language and technological barriers can limit who does and does not receive needed emergency assistance,'' Alliance President and CEO Sonya Blake said. “This collaboration will empower us to conduct the labor-intensive work of contacting and empowering previously unreached small business owners and other residents.''

The funding will support dissemination of crucial information to business owners in low-to-moderate income areas of the Valley such as Pacoima, Sun Valley, and Panorama City, Blake explained. Content will be delivered in English and Spanish via news bulletins, webinars, virtual conferences and digital career fairs.

“The Alliance was there for the Valley in the wake of the Northridge earthquake and is here for our community now as we face this pandemic. They continue to bridge the resource gap for local, small businesses today,'' said Robin Choi, president of Wells Fargo San Fernando Valley Regional Bank and

member of the Alliance Board of Governors. “Wells Fargo will continue to partner with the Alliance to promote business resilience and recovery in the most inclusive way possible.''
