Detective Jon Jarema served at the Newport Beach Police Department for 12 years. During that time he served as a patrol officer, SWAT team member, and most recently as a Detective.
In May of 2018, Jon was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. For two years Jon fought through many surgeries and treatments with his family and friends by his side. Jon still came to work during that time and always had a positive attitude....he never failed to make us laugh here at the police department.
On May 9th, 2020 Jon passed away surrounded by his family, friends and partners. Jon leaves behind his beautiful wife, Lauren, and three year old twins, Jett and Quinn. As the Jarema family navigates their loss of Jon, the Newport Beach Police Association stands beside them now, and always.
All monies raised will go directly to Jarema family to allow them time to grieve without any financial worries. On behalf of the Newport Beach Police Association, we are grateful for any support we can offer the Jarema Family.
