LAUSD Seniors to Get Free Help with College Admissions During Pandemic

Los Angeles Unified School District graduating seniors will be able to connect with counselors for free to help them through the college admissions process this year.

Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that students can go to this website to describe the problems they fear with going to college once the pandemic ends.

Within 48 hours, they will be contacted by a counselor from their high school, a representative from the college they were admitted to or other professionals to help them navigate the admissions process.

Garcetti says that because of the pandemic, many students aren't as willing to leave the area because they have become the primary income earners and caretakers for their families.

The mayor says this service is to help the students with virtual tours, provide resources for scholarships and general help with dealing with admissions.
